According to the Speaker of the House, we will be voting on toll legislation this week.
As I have already stated, I am against the idea of placing tolls throughout our state.
Here are a couple of quick facts that you should know about tolls.
Are border tolls permitted by the federal government?
No. Tolling only at state borders is not allowed by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).
How much would it cost to implement and operate tolls in our state?
According to a study by CDM Smith, it is estimated that it would cost $157 million per year to operate tolls, and between $450 and $600 million to install tolls.
I believe taxpayers already pay enough and placing tolls throughout our state is just another tax on residents and businesses.
If you agree that we shouldn’t place tolls throughout our state, sign my petition now.
