State Representative Chris Aniskovich Tours MakerspaceCT, Hartford’s Hub for Innovation and Education

Hartford, CT – On Thursday, April 10, 2025, State Representative Chris Aniskovich visited MakerspaceCT, a 28,000-square-foot skills development center located in the historic G. Fox Building in downtown Hartford. The tour highlighted the nonprofit’s mission to empower individuals and communities through access to cutting-edge tools, technology, and educational opportunities.
During the visit, Rep. Aniskovich explored MakerspaceCT’s ten specialized workshops, including areas dedicated to woodworking, metal fabrication, 3D printing, and virtual reality programming. He met with staff, instructors, and members of the community who utilize the space to turn ideas into tangible innovations. The tour also showcased the organization’s partnerships with local institutions like the University of Saint Joseph and UConn Hartford, which provide students with hands-on learning experiences to prepare them for careers in manufacturing, engineering, and technology.
“MakerspaceCT is a remarkable asset to Hartford and the entire state,” said Rep. Aniskovich. “It’s inspiring to see how this facility bridges the gap between education and industry, equipping people of all ages with the skills they need to succeed in today’s workforce. This is exactly the kind of initiative we need to support economic growth and innovation in Connecticut.”
The visit comes at a pivotal time as Connecticut aims to bolster its manufacturing and technology sectors. MakerspaceCT’s recent initiatives, including the Engineering Primer Program supported by a $350,000 grant from the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, underscore its dedication to preparing the next generation for high-demand careers.
