Appointment Becomes First Leadership Role for Second-Term State Representative
HARTFORD – State Representative Chris Aniskovich (R-35) has been appointed to serve as the leading House Republican lawmaker on the legislature’s Commerce Committee by House Republican Leader Vincent Candelora (R-86).
A Ranking Member is the designated leader from the minority party on a committee. Each committee has a House and Senate ranking member. Individuals who serve in this role are responsible for bringing forward legislation and communicating to their caucuses details about bills voted out of committees.
“I am grateful and honored to have been appointed to this committee leadership position,” Rep. Aniskovich said. “I will bring a strong commitment to small and family-owned businesses and industry experience to the committee, and I look forward to working across the aisle to promote job growth both in our district and across the state.”
The Commerce Committee has cognizance of all matters relating to the Department of Economic and Community Development and Connecticut Innovations, Incorporated.
Rep. Aniskovich’s new assignment will take effect on Wednesday, January 8th at the start of the 2025 legislative session.
