State Representative Mark Anderson Speaks Against Extension of Governor’s Emergency Powers

Posted on July 14, 2021

During the July 14th special session, State Representative Mark Anderson (R-62nd), speaks against extension of Governor’s emergency powers.

Unfortunately, the vote passed by a margin of 73 in favor, 56 against, with 22 absent or not voting. I am very disappointed that yet again, the legislative body will be left out of any further action that might need to be taken. Those who voted yes on this extension today are simply giving up their responsibility in being the voice of their constituents to the Governor.

Connecticut will remain as one of 26 states that still has an active COVID-19 emergency order in place.
