Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP)

The Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP) helps Connecticut residents afford to heat their homes. Applications for CEAP typically take 30-45 minutes. Basic benefits towards your heating bill range between $180 to $530 depending on your income level, household size and whether there is a vulnerable member in the household. These benefits are usually paid directly to your utility company or fuel supplier. Households that heat with deliverable fuels like oil or propane may be eligible for additional fuel deliveries.

Warrior Ride

I was honored to be among about 40 people who participated in the first annual fundraising ride of the Barkhamsted-based Warrior Riders, led by its president, Ken Messier. The Warrior Riders are a 501-C-3 non-profit corporation that provide power-assisted recumbent quads, trikes, and handcycles at no cost to disabled Veterans and First Responders. The bikes are manufactured right in Pleasant Valley by Ti-Trikes, Inc. The Warrior Riders share space at 40 River Road.

Stony Hill Village

Earlier this month, I toured Stony Hill Village in Granby which is a non-profit that provides affordable housing to seniors and the disabled. During their annual meeting, I presented a legislative citation to Lewis McIntyre, who served as a volunteer for over 25 years, including as outgoing vice president. Efforts like his have created a great opportunity for those in need, right in the center of town and is a great partner in Granby for 52 years.
