On Wednesday, the House and Senate both passed legislation to suspend Connecticut’s 25 cent per gallon gas tax, which would begin on April 1st and end on June 30th. This comes weeks after House and Senate Republicans made an appeal for immediate relief at the pumps for our residents. Included in this bill is free bus service during the same period, as well as tax-free week from April 10-16 for clothing and footwear valued at $100 and under. Important Government Administration and Elections Committee Public Hearing on Friday

On Friday, March 4 at 10:00 A.M. ,the Government Administration and Elections (GAE) Committee will hold a public hearing regarding two bills (S.B. #184 and H.B. #5262) that could impact our November 2022 state-wide election. These bills add a seventh reason for absentee voting that is not in the state constitution. That new reason would be the existence of the COVID-19 illness, not the illness of the actual voter.
