VIDEO: Standing with Our Veterans: HB 5491

(HARTFORD) — Yesterday, I voted in support of HB 5491 which offers municipal property tax relief for certain Connecticut veterans who have a permanent and total (P&T) 100% disability rating. In my remarks, however, I recognize how this bill is yet another unfunded mandate for towns to implement without any state financial assistance, which is why I suggest incorporating state funding to help our small towns.
As a veteran myself, I am proud to support this bill but I look forward to revisiting it to collaboratively provide relief, supporting both our veterans and our small towns.
