State of Connecticut Announces $9 million to 50 Recreational Trails/Parks

(HARTFORD) — On May 15th, State Representative Tim Ackert (R-8) joined Governor Lamont in celebrating the announcement of $9 million in state grants towards building, expanding, and improving 50 recreational parks and trails across Connecticut. This includes parks and trails in Coventry, Lebanon, and Columbia, CT. Improvements to signage, lighting, trails, and more are all scheduled to be completed by 2026.

The following in-district parks/trails have received funding:

  • Hop River State Park Trail (Coventry) – Signage and Wayfinding
  • Mooween State Park (Lebanon) – Trail Parking Lot Construction
  • Mono Pond State Park (Columbia) – Planning and Design
