(LEBANON) — Last night, State Representative Tim Ackert (R-8) and Mark DeCaprio (R-48) joined for a night of Pizza & Policy at Roberto’s Log Cabin Restaurant in Lebanon, CT. Conversations and laughs filled the room as both representatives outlined their 2023 legislative agendas and fielded constituent questions and comments.

Some of the issues address included the Highway Use Tax (HUT), affordable housing, the sale of wine in grocery stores, and what the future holds in store for Hartford’s recently closed trash incinerator plant. Over 25 residents from neighboring towns attended the event and both lawmakers were extremely happy with the turnout and event’s success.

“These are exactly the events that we look forward to hosting as it provides us with the opportunity to engage in informal conversations about pressing legislative and state issues,” said Ackert and DeCaprio in a joint statement. “We encourage all residents and families to voice their ideas and interests during these open discussions, or simply extend a greeting, because our goal is to get to know our members so that we can better represent them in Hartford.”

For those who were unable to attend the event, please send your questions and ideas to Rep. Ackert at Tim.Ackert@housegop.ct.gov and Rep. DeCaprio at Mark.DeCaprio@housegop.ct.gov. You can also follow them on Facebook, or sign up for texts and emails on their websites for more frequent updates.
