Federal CARES Act

The Federal Government passed into law the “CARES Act” that offers relief in response to the economic disruption caused by the coronavirus outbreak. The US Chamber of Commerce has put together a helpful guide on the different aspects of the program and eligibility requirements. Click Here.

CDC Travel Advisory

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued travel guidance for Connecticut, New York and New Jersey urging residents to refrain from non-essential travel for 14 days. Click Here.

US Census

The 2020 Census is currently underway. The Census is a constitutionally mandated count of all residents in the country that is used to determine the number of seats each state has in Congress, how state legislative districts are drawn and how federal funds are apportioned. The Census Bureau will send multiple mailings throughout March and April. Here’s what to look for in your mail box:

Ways to Respond 

Major Disaster Declaration

Governor Lamont announced that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) approved the state’s request for a Major Disaster Declaration. This approval means that impacted state agencies and municipalities will be reimbursed for 75% of their costs responding to the coronavirus outbreak.
