Ackert Talks Hiring Ratios for National Apprenticeship Week

This week, we celebrate the 9th annual National Apprenticeship Week, showcasing the fantastic benefits our state offers for apprentices and those interested in the skilled labor workforce. As an electrician contractor and sponsor for apprentices, it’s important to discuss one of the major challenges our apprentices face today: Hiring Ratios.

In the video below, I outline hiring ratios, how they limit the success of our apprenticeship programs, and how I look forward to once again proposing legislation next session to even these ratios to expand accessibility for prospective apprentices throughout Connecticut.
