Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Last month, Democratic members of the Transportation Committee voted in favor of three-toll related proposals. Final passage of these bills (by the House and Senate) would begin the process of placing electronic toll gantries on our highways. The Governor’s constantly evolving proposals include as many as 50 gantries on I-84, I-91, I-95 and the Merritt Parkway, other proposals would allow tolls to be expanded to any other limited access highway such as Route 8, making us one of the most heavily tolled states in the country. Concurrent with the ongoing tolls debate, the Democratic majority has testified that they have “diverted” millions of dollars from reaching the Special Transportation Fund, the site where any toll money should go.

If you are opposed to a driving tax, join me and let your voice be heard. Please spread the word and reach out to family, friends, neighbors, and anyone else who doesn’t agree with the governor and majority party that tolls are the answer to our transportation related issues.

On Saturday, May 18th, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. there will be a Rally Against Tolls on the North Lawn of the State Capitol.
