Happy Valentine’s Day from me and Jason Perillo! This morning, we delivered some handmade Valentine’s Day cards from students at Holy Trinity Catholic Academy in Shelton to local seniors at Wesley Heights. Our bright young students loved this activity and our seniors are so appreciative of their efforts.

HARTFORD — On Wednesday, February 7th, State Rep. Ben McGorty returned to the State Capitol in Hartford to open the 2024 Legislative Session. Members of the House of Representatives and Senate were welcomed back to renew their commitment to serving the people of Connecticut. Governor Lamont joined a joint legislature in the House Chamber to deliver his annual budget address and outline his vision and priorities for this session.

HARTFORD—House Republicans, in advance of the start of the 2024 legislative session, unveiled proposals Thursday that will maintain the state’s fiscal stability while making Connecticut a more affordable place to live.

Among the proposals is a call to amend the State Constitution to protect the “fiscal guardrails” that have allowed the state to build a solid Rainy Day Fund and begin to pay down long-term debt.
