State Representative Tony D’Amelio (R-71) today announced he will retire from the legislature at the close of the year, ending a nearly 25-year run as the voice of the people of the 71st district of Waterbury and Middlebury.

National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day is observed annually on December 7th.

On this 80th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor, we pause to remember the 3,581 brave citizens who gave their lives or were injured in defense of our nation on that fateful day.

In a speech to Congress on December 8th, President Franklin D. Roosevelt called the bombing of Pearl Harbor “a date which will live in infamy.” Congress declared war the same day.
