Plainville Lawmakers Collecting Weathered U.S. Flags for Retirement

PLAINVILLE – With Flag Day approaching, State Representative Francis Rexford Cooley (R-22) and State Senator Henri Martin (R-31) are encouraging residents to retire your worn American flags at two drop-off locations within Plainville.

The Second Continental Congress adopted the first American flag on July 14, 1777, and President Woodrow Wilson declared June 14 to be Flag Day in 1916. National Flag Day was then established by an Act

2024 Major Public Acts Report

The nonpartisan Office of Legislative Research (OLR) has published its 2024 “Major Public Acts” report. This report gives a categorical breakdown of the major topics that the General Assembly addressed in the 2024 session. OLR produces this report in consultation with the nonpartisan Office of Fiscal Analysis (OFA). Cooley looks to protect the scholarships of prospective college students

HARTFORD- State Rep. Francis Cooley (R-22) supported a bill this week to protect state student financial aid packages for higher education.

Rep. Cooley said, “This bill would allow prospective college students to see the written policies of the schools they want to attend and gives students opportunity to make the best decision for themselves on which school to attend. Transparency is never a bad thing.”
