CROMWELL – State Representative Christie Carpino (Cromwell) recently visited Phoenix Farm in Cromwell to learn more about agricultural challenges and opportunities in Connecticut. Carpino was joined by Mayor Enzo Faienza and co-owner Christine Whitney. Phoenix is a certified organic farm and grows and offers local honey and maple syrup in addition to a wide array of vegetables. Phoenix Farm participates in local farmers markets as well as operating a seasonal farm stand on site.

State Representatives Christie Carpino and Irene Haines had an opportunity to visit the Connecticut Draft Horse Rescue’s Autumn Ridge farm. Executive Director Dr. Stacey Golub and all of the volunteers were generous with their time and explained how they rehabilitate and care for these beautiful animals.

Hartford – State Representative Christie Carpino joined a group of bipartisan legislators in a letter that was recently sent to the governor requesting immediate assistance in reducing the risk of EEE (Eastern Equine Encephalitis) by deploying aerial spraying to terminate mosquitoes on a mass scale, regionally, throughout Connecticut.
