I wish you and your family a Happy Thanksgiving. I hope you are able to celebrate this American holiday with family and friends; this is a day to give thanks for all that we have.

One of the first Thanksgiving celebrations to be observed in what is now the United States of America took place in Plymouth, Massachusetts in the autumn of 1621.

This year’s national Thanksgiving celebration is based on that New England custom of rejoicing after a successful harvest.

There is much for which we can be thankful this season. I’d like to give thanks to the good people of North Haven. I am thankful for the opportunity to represent you in the State Capitol. I give thanks that our nation was founded on the principles of personal freedom, equality, and opportunity for all. We are a diverse and amazing country – an accepting people. I give thanks and pray we always remain united as citizens and a country.

I encourage you to remember our abundance, those that may not have as much and especially give thanks to our incredible armed forces members and veterans, who have provided the blanket of freedom we enjoy.

Have a happy and healthy Thanksgiving.

Sincerely,

Dave Yaccarino
