The Connecticut Department of Transportation has announced that two roadwork projects will be commencing in Norwalk.
Bridgework on I-95 over the Norwalk River will begin next Thursday, August 16th.
This project on Yankee Doodle Bridge consists of repairing existing steel, localized paint removal, field painting on existing repaired steel, substructure and deck concrete repairs, replacement of the bridge parapet including pedestrian protective fencing and median barrier, bridge drainage and storm water management improvements, and replacement of roadway lighting including the Norwalk River navigation lighting systems.
Work is scheduled to end on November 23, 2019. Existing Traffic Operations may be interfered on:

Pavement preservation work has also just begun on Route 7 in Norwalk.
This project consists of 2.15 miles (northbound and southbound) of milling existing bituminous concrete pavement, crack filling and repairs to the underlying roadway, replacement of catch basin tops and placing new bituminous concrete pavement.
Work is scheduled to end in September 2018. Lane closures will take place between 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, with Friday night as a rain date for approximately one month. One lane will be maintained in each direction of Route 7 between Route 123 and Grist Mill Road.
