HARTFORD – State Representative Rosa Rebimbas (R-70) will be honored with the Connecticut Psychological Association’s 2017 Distinguished Legislator Award.
Rep. Rebimbas was selected because of her advocacy and partnership with the organization on matters affecting public mental health and juvenile justice. Additionally, Rebimbas’s work on behalf of children and families, specifically child custody cases, has made her exceptionally deserving of this special recognition.

The organization is committed to increasing the usefulness of the profession, setting industry standards, and providing continuing education and career development opportunities for practitioners.
“I am honored to receive this award, but even more honored to be in a position where I can have a genuine and palpable impact on the lives of so many,” said Rep. Rebimbas. “Advocating for children and families is a passion of mine and I believe that the work we are doing to improve their quality of life is important. Public mental health and the juvenile justice system will continue to gain national attention, making our efforts on the local and state level paramount in creating meaningful reform.”
