State Representatives Joe Polletta and David Wilson, and State Senator Eric Berthel recently hosted an open question and answer session at the Woodbury Senior Center to allow constituents a chance to learn directly about policies being created and discussed in the legislature, and to get answers to pressing concerns.

More than 40 concerned residents attended the session where discussion included the recently-ended legislative session and the upcoming session that convenes on Wednesday, February 7, the state budget deficit, and bear hunting, among others. One of the major topics discussed concerned the state’s Education Cost Sharing (ECS) program and many residents voiced their opinion that the formula is being applied unfairly and to the detriment of their community.

The crowd also applauded the announcement that earlier that afternoon the legislature voted to override Governor Malloy’s veto of the Medicare Savings Program which assists seniors and the disabled with payments to offset the costs of healthcare not covered directly by the Medicare program.
