(SHELTON) — Recently, the Connecticut Department of Economic & Community Development’s (DECD) Office of the Arts announced a total of $1,050,000 in state arts grants for CT arts organizations and municipalities. In their announcement, three arts organizations in Shelton received roughly $14,000 in separate grants to support theater, town events, and other relevant programs.

The following Shelton-based art organizations were awarded grants from the Supporting Arts Grant Program:

Perillo, Shelton Officials Secure $2M in state funds for Canal Street work

(SHELTON) — The city is receiving $2 million in state funds toward reconstruction of Canal and Wooster streets, including the reopening of the long-closed Wooster Street railroad crossing.

The funds are part of more than $1.1 billion in state funding — approved Friday by the State Bond Commission — that will be used to perform various improvements to Connecticut’s transportation system.

CT Prescription Drug Discount Program

A new CT Prescription Drug Discount Card Program is being launched on October 2nd. All residents can sign up online as of that date for the free discount card to receive savings on certain prescription drugs.

Today was a great opportunity to catch up with folks at the Shelton Senior Center during this morning’s senior fair! Special thanks go to State Senator Kevin Kelly and his team along with the staff at the Senior Center for making it such a great event.
