The Connecticut DOT is encouraging residents, commuters, business owners, and interested individuals to attend an informational meeting on Thursday, January 18, 2024 (Snow Date January 24, 2024) to learn about and discuss Phase 1 of the proposed Route 82 project.

The meeting will be held at the Kelly STEAM Magnet Middle School, 25 Mahan Drive, Norwich, Connecticut, 06360.

There will be an opportunity for individual discussions with DOT officials beginning at 6:00 p.m., with the formal presentation

Caring for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or other cognitive issues can be difficult, and frightening if contact is lost with them, even temporarily. For many older individuals with cognitive issues or disorientation, wandering is a very dangerous and potentially life-threatening concern.

According to the Alzheimer’s Association, wandering can happen at any time of the day or night and individuals with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia have a 6 in 10 chance of wandering.

For all local farmers, the Connecticut Department of Agriculture is accepting proposals for 2024 Farm Transition Grants, which assist Connecticut farmers and agricultural cooperatives in diversifying their operations and their other venues where the majority of their Connecticut-grown products are sold.

Applications are due no later than 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2024.

Shore Line East Schedule Change Effective December 18, 2023

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is alerting Shore Line East (SLE) customers that the temporary construction schedule needed for the Amtrak Fitter Interlocking Project will end and the new SLE schedule will take effect on Monday, December 18, 2023.
