HARTFORD – The 2016 Legislative Session now proceeding at the Capitol is one focused primarily on fiscal matters; only legislative committees can propose non-budgetary bills for the House and Senate’s consideration. NAUGATUCK – Just a day after the Legislative Session opened in Hartford, several area residents gathered at the Whittemore Library in Naugatuck to discuss legislative priorities with State Representatives David Labriola (Naugatuck, Oxford & Southbury) and Rosa C. Rebimbas (Naugatuck).

HARTFORD – The House Chamber of the Capitol was buzzing with people on February 3 as legislators and guests celebrated the opening of another Legislative Session. In attendance was State Rep. David Labriola (R-131), who represents Naugatuck, Oxford and Southbury.

This three month “short” session occurs biannually and only allows proposed bills related to budgetary, revenue and financial matters to be considered. Committee chairmen, on the other hand, can submit bills to be considered on any subject.
