HARTFORD — State Representative Mike France (R-42) met with constituents in Ledyard and Preston last week in two mid-Session town hall-style meetings to discuss important issues that are currently shaping the 2018 Legislative Session. Rep. France was joined by Senator Heather Somers for the Preston meeting.
In Preston, the discussion touched upon topics such as the legalization of marijuana, education costs, dwindling school populations, municipal grants, tolls and Supreme Court nominations. In Ledyard, Rep. France and attendees also discussed tolls and education funding, in addition to the state budget, municipal aid, the Special Transportation Fund, a transportation lockbox and constitutional amendments.
“I want to thank all of my constituents who took the time out of their busy schedules to come out last week to the Town Hall meetings,” said Rep. France. “I always enjoy our conversations and the opportunity to answer questions about the issues that matter most to those I represent. I can’t do my job without your input, so your opinions are extremely important to me.”
Rep. France hosts Town Hall meetings in Ledyard and Preston on a quarterly basis. The next series of meetings will be held shortly after the 2018 Session has concluded on May 9th. If you were unable to attend either of these meetings, or simply want to discuss a particular issue in more detail, he encourages constituents to contact him at 800-842-1423 or Mike.France@housegop.ct.gov.
