Michael Ferguson is serving his first term representing Connecticut’s 138th House District, which includes the western part of Danbury as well as parts of Ridgefield and New Fairfield.
Rep. Ferguson serves on the General Assembly’s Education, Transportation, and Internship committees
A proud, lifelong resident of the 138th District and Danbury native, Rep. Ferguson is a former member of the Danbury Board of Education and is the Chairperson of the Danbury Schools and Business Collaborative Board of Directors. Education policy will be a key topic that he plans to focus on during his service in the House. He wants to make sure that all students have access to quality education and that schools hire the best teachers possible.
Prior to his service in the House, Rep. Ferguson was an Adjunct History Professor at Naugatuck Valley Community College.
Rep. Ferguson currently teaches history and political science at Post University in Waterbury.
He also served on the Danbury Planning Commission.
Rep. Ferguson has always had a passion for public service, leadership, and state government. He interned at the Connecticut General Assembly during the 2013 Legislative Session.
Rep. Ferguson earned his B.A. in Political Science and an M.A. in History at Western Connecticut State University. He currently works at the Danbury Hospital Information Desk.
