Winsted – State Representative Jay Case (R-63) was invited as a guest reader to participate in the Northwest Chamber of Commerce Read Aloud at the Batcheller School on Wednesday, February 14th. Case read The Giant Jumperee, authored by Julia Donaldson and Helen Oxenbury, to a group of kindergarteners and also answered questions about the book. “Participating in events that promote early reading is important to the students in our community. Teaching early reading habits will help set our young students up for long-term success in whatever career they end up pursuing. It was enjoyable to read and to get to know Ms. Reira’s class. They were an extremely enthusiastic group!”
