As Legislator of the Year, Carpino played a major role in MADD’s Campaign to Eliminate Drunk Driving through her legislative efforts and community advocacy. Recently, Carpino and MADD facilitated a DUI checkpoint in Portland. It is estimated through MADD’s advocacy efforts and legislative support, drunk driving has been reduced 53% nationally.
