In honor of Rare Disease Day, State Representative Tracy Marra and I are proud to introduce legislation to support those with Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).

(UPDATE: this bill has successfully been approved by the Public Health Committee)

DMD is a rare and fatal muscle disease that affects children from an early age. Sadly, its survival rate is strongly dependent on early detection and screening.

(CROMWELL, CT) –  State Representative Christie Carpino, State Senator Matt Lesser, and local leaders broke ground on the Cromwell Middle School construction project.

Last summer,  Rep. Carpino and Sen. Lesser announced that they had they had secured a significant increase in the state reimbursement rate for this project from the Department of Administrative Services. With a reimbursement rate increase from 39.64% to 49.64%, Cromwell taxpayers could save as much as $7 million on this project.

(CROMWELL) — On Monday evening, State Representative Christie Carpino visited Covenant Living of Cromwell to tour their senior and assisted living facilities. Led by Executive Director, Dan Stegbauer, Carpino was happy to discuss Covenant Living’s connections to our local community, their staffing needs, and other present daily challenges.
