Carpino, State and Local Officials Kick off 2016 Travelers Championship in Cromwell

Today Mayor Faienza and I had the opportunity to help kick off the Traveler’s Championship, Connecticut’s largest professional sporting event, along with other state and local officials this morning at TPC River Highlands. The event draws thousands of spectators from around New England, with all tournament proceeds going to local charities. This year the tournament proceeds will go towards funding aimed at finding a cure for ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis). It is important to remember the courageous efforts those diagnosed with ALS put forth every day to overcome the disease. I had the honor of joining ALS patients this morning including CT resident Brian Savo, and Jay Fishman, Travelers Chairman of the Board.
