HARTFORD – State Representative Tim Ackert (R-8) joined State Senator Tony Guglielmo (R-35) along with local municipal leaders, town board members, family, and friends for a ribbon cutting ceremony to welcome The Rusty Relic Antiques and Primitives, an antique store and gift shop.

Representative Ackert presented store owners with a legislative citation to officially commemorate the occasion and said that with the influx of new business and renovations happening in the downtown area that it will prompt residents from all across the state to shop and eat.

“Coventry has a new destination point and it’s the village,” Rep. Ackert said.

Owners Jamie Stearns and her husband Jason Beausoleil were already on Main Street for approximately six months before relocating down the road, but did so because the new space offered them a more expansive area for inventory and a much closer proximity to the village downtown.

“I’d like to congratulate Rusty Relic for their investment into the village and our community and I look forward to their continued success for many years to come,” Rep. Ackert said.

The shop is located at 1265 Main Street on Route 31 across from Bidwell Tavern in Coventry.
