Dear Senator Osten, Representative Miller, Senator Linares, Representative Aman and esteemed members of the Planning & Development Committee,

I submit this testimony in support of H.B. 5180 (RAISED) AN ACT CONCERNING THE DOCUMENTATION OF CONCRETE FOUNDATION APPLICATIONS and thank the committee for bringing this proposal before the public.

I am here to support this legislation as a way to assist those with potential issues in the future. This obviously does not alleviate the burden of those already struggling with this issue, but the process of finding a resolution is an ongoing effort amongst not only the State Legislators, but all relevant State Government Departments and Agencies.

I would like you to consider taking an additional step to include the supplier of concrete on the permitting form. This would add an additional layer of information in the event that the installer is either no longer in business, or uses multiple suppliers in their business practice.

Having been actively involved with area Legislators, the Governor’s office, the Attorney General’s office, the Department of Consumer Protection, etc. since this recently came to light, I realize the heavy fiscal burden it is placing on these families and look forward to continuing working with all parties involved.

Thank you for your time and consideration of this legislation.
