Rep. Ackert- Met with Students Visiting from China

Hartford– State Rep. Tim Ackert (R-8) on Tuesday met with students from Capt. Nathan Hale School in Coventry and their sister school No.57 Middle School from Qingdao, China.

“It was a great experience to meet with the students from China and to have the opportunity to learn more about their culture,” said Rep. Ackert. “I also applaud the Coventry school system for investing in this program that will benefit our students.”

The students from No.57 Middle School in Qingdao, China received a guided tour of the state capitol and had the chance to learn the legislative process. In addition, the visiting students presented Rep. Ackert with a beautiful embroidered Chinese fan and in exchange Rep. Ackert gave the middle school students a flag flown over the State Capitol in their honor.
