Hydrilla Treatment-Coventry Lake 8/10 & 8/11

The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection will be applying a pesticide treatment against the invasive Hydrilla on a portion of Coventry Lake in Coventry from August 10th to the 11th.The location of the treatment area is shown on the map below. 

 

 

On August 10th and 11th, the area within and for a distance of 500-feet beyond the treatment area will be closed to all uses, including swimming, boating, fishing and irrigation. Additionally, use of the lake water in the same area for livestock watering and direct drinking/domestic use will be restricted for 14 full days after the treatment (until August 27th). The CT DEEP boat ramp will remain open. Prior to the treatment, the shoreline will be posted with signs in accordance with DEEP requirements.
