Upcoming Veterans Event at Stone Acres

There will be an Open Barn event at Stone Acres Therapeutic Riding Center in Columbia for Veterans Day on November 11th from 12:30 to 4:30 pm.

Stone Acres’ therapeutic riding program, called “Horses for Heroes,” aids veterans who are suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder or traumatic brain injury by teaching them how to ride a horse. This kind of therapy boosts confidence, encourages social relationships and is generally a fun, exciting time.

The farm will be open for tours so that veterans and their families can meet the horses, see the facility, and learn about the therapeutic riding program.

I am reaching out to veterans in my district to attend this free event. Whether or not you are seeking this kind of therapy, it will be a great afternoon to support fellow veterans and learn something new about our district.
