HARTFORD – House and Senate Republicans are calling on Governor Malloy’s budget office to answer to state lawmakers about why the administration withheld information from the public detailing a shortfall in the state budget.

HARTFORD – House Republican Leader Themis Klarides today said the state’s underperforming income and sales tax revenue has put Connecticut nearly $79 million in deficit, and conflicts with the Governor’s budget office which has insisted as recently as Sept. 20 there was no deficit.

HARTFORD – The Democrats who voted for the current state budget and willingly ceded authority to Gov. Malloy to make random budget cuts will bear responsibility for any closures within the vocational-technical school system, House Republican Leader Themis Klarides said today.
